I Like to Draw Picnics

05/11/2021

I’m not really sure why I’m drawing them now but you know picnics have just hit different since Covid, huh?

Not to be extra, I am just as happy with grabbing a bag of food or a pizza and heading to the park. That’s the best thing about picnics, they can be made out of literally anything. You can be as fancy or as low key as you want and it’s still fun.

What’s your favorite think to take to a picnic?

I’m going to offer postcard packs of these soon! Stay tuned. xx

Little Oven Bakery and the Magnificent Macarons

01/19/2011

Little Oven Bakery in New York City surprised me with a little package filled with French confections recently. I was really excited because not only was it a chance to photograph and eat one of my favorite things: macarons; but I also had a little case of Sofia Minis chilled just for such an occasion.

I must say they were all delicious. Even after being mailed they were perfectly crispy, chewy and delicious. I felt like I’d just ran away from the bakery with an abundance of sugary love.

I heard they’ve been recently adding new flavors to their lineup like chai tea and peanut butter and jelly. Yum! I can’t wait for my next tasting session.

The Cutest Wine You Can Drink

05/04/2010

I know you probably don’t choose your wine by the bottle… but if you’re anything like me that definitely sweetens the deal! Wine bottles (after you share the contents with your best friend over chocolate-covered strawberries) can be turned into vases and lamps (DIY ala Wit and Whistle) to name only a couple of uses!

It also doesn’t help that one of the Hello Kitty Wines comes with a necklace. Are they marketing this FOR us? I’ve heard the rants about inspiring children to drink with the cartoon character but what they don’t understand is in Japan and Asia cute characters are the norm. Your average business man on a train more than likely has a cute character attached to his cellphone in Tokyo — It makes me wish we Americans understood that design can be cute. Cute can be good. It makes you happy and it delights your senses if you let it. (I promise!)

Sofia Mini Blanc de Blancs are one of my all-time favorites (pre-pregnancy of course!) and it’s a sparkling white grape wine so no staining your teeth! Perfect size can to fill a wine class and if you’re hanging around outside you wont even want one. The straws were attached, as rumored, so that women could drink the wine without ruining their lipstick, says a server at St. Elmo Steakhouse Indianapolis — a grand place to be served Sofia wine.

Sofia Coppola’s inspiration board was featured in French Vogue a few years ago and of course I had to save the article and share it as she is a huge inspiration behind Miseducated. Let’s escape to Sofia*land~

Blythe Gets Dressed in Dessert 1.4

09/22/2009
candystripe

No matter how busy you are you should always make time to get dressed-up! Today she’s a candy striper and she’s loving our friends that are new to the dessert party, little odd forest and Mod Cloth.

Introduction

Now what kind of character model can wear clothes similar to human-style? What model inspired millions and millions of people to create, do, go, wear, buy, sew, photograph… ?

If you thought BLYTHE, then that’s right! I decided my own little milky Amelia would be perfect with some miseducated touches.. So here she is, Miss. Educated on her debut and dressed for dessert. Not only does this bubblegum princess make the rainclouds pour star sprinkles but she has the best taste — she just whispers what she would like to wear for today’s theme and I dress her! With the help of many amazing designers and *soon* diy goddesses.

Would you like to see her dressed in your creations next? Or perhaps you’d love to decorate her apartment with your interior goodies? Want to suggest the next theme? Answer all these questions and more in the little white comment box. It’s just waiting for you to feed it puffy pink marshmellow rope letters dusted with pink lemonaid LETTERS.
